Workshop: Visual Design 101
June '14 | Teaching, Visual Design
This was the 2nd in a series of design workshops I’m running for designers and people who work with designers at Intuit, and took place in June 2014.
Since I only had 1 hour to cover a massive topic, I reduced the scope of my goal to explaining the fundamental goals of visual design (to dispel the myth of visual design as design’s version of lipstick), and creating an understanding of how its components are used to evoke emotions and communicate clearly.
Ultimately, because it was mostly for people with little visual design experience, I wanted participants to come away able to give precise and useful feedback when working with visual designers because they would know how visual design operates.
